Gotta love the innerwebs. Saw an ad for an NOS Sun Mistral/105 wheel on another forum. Since the ex- taco-ed one of mine for me, I've been wanting another wheel. Traded the guy a pair of SPD pedals for it.

Came in the mail today. Yup. Brand spankin new. Never been ridden. Can't wait to tear it apart! I'm gonna put the lighter rim I have now on there. The heavier rim on the new wheel is going to make a new rear wheel so it'll hold up better.

I think I know *just* the wheel... Its at the shop my buddy works at. Ultegra... Looks like poo, bearings are smooooooth.

Looks like a great place to ride and real fun. And I agree with you...whether its twisty roads for the street bike, or trails for the dirtbike or mountain bike, I like fast and flowing too.

yeah... but that mtn bike video, it all looked pretty darn flat to me. little bumps in the terrain aren't rolling hills.

Some of those 'little hills' can be steep little SOBs. Least round here.

While its not the Demonstration Forest, its fun in its own way.

The camera is attached to your body (or some part of the bike) and doesn't move independently, so the terrain will appear flat regardless of whether you're going uphill or downhill.

My tastes have changed a bit since I started riding. Several months ago, I would have said that tight, technical trails covered with roots and rocks were my favorites. Being able to negotiate challenging terrain like that made me feel invincible. But since then, I've gotten stronger and my endurance has increased, which enables me to ride some of the really fast trails at sustained high speeds. It's on those type of trails that my 29er XC bike really feels like it's in it's element.

I was just thinking the other day that I need to drag my trike out from under the house and do a few laps around a local park. Hmm, recumbent trike crits....
