How great and do you have a ideal of how good or bad the roads are, do I take the V Strom 1000 (warmer) or the DRZ 400 (more fun on bad roads).

Mustang to Meers Dec 8th

Sometimes i try to find the nastiest roads, but this time i just tried to find mostly back roads there... so some dirt, gravel and pavement... probably a lot like the last time we went.

Meers Ride
Great time on the ride to meers! Much thanks to Dadayama for planning the route. Maybe next time everyone can bring a little cash? Don't worry, I didn't mind a bit springing for beer and chow. Still brushing the sand and dust out of my clothes. Hope to get a bigger crowd for the next group ride. How do I post the photo to this thread...any suggestions?

There's a whole thread on how to post pics here:
http://www.advrider.com/forums/showthread.php?t=919 It's getting pretty long so if you can't figure it out pretty quick just read some more there. The first thing you see is a big red this doesn't work any more, just read on to option 2. And don't worry about the resizing thing that many of the first posts are having trouble with, that doesn't apply to option 2. . |

Mustang to Meers!!!
Had a total of four of us on the trip to Meers!
Ended up about 40% paved, 30% gravel, 20% dirt, and 10% sand! It was good to get out of the house and hit the open back-roads and see the country side. I about dumped it after hitting a sandy spot going to fast, but kept it up... [IMG] ![]() photo by Okiemotorrad, on Flickr[/IMG] We got a burger at Meers and i forgot to take a pic to prove that we were there, but I remembered when I started eating my pie. [IMG] ![]() photo by Okiemotorrad, on Flickr[/IMG] Really a great group of guys i rode with today... we are planning on doing more...

Looks like you guys had a great time. I really wish I didn't have to miss out on this one.
I got up early this morning and worked on the daughter's Jeep a bit. I replaced the alternator and have been chasing an electrical gremlin. Then the wife and I went and got our Christmas tree. It's up now and the house has that nice fresh pine smell. ![]() We just finished the FOP Christmas party. The town folk were nice enough to keep the random stupidity to a minimum through dinner and Dirty Santa.I really need to address a few things on the XR650R before we go ride again. The chain is due, I have a frozen adjuster, and the battery pack is shot. Then of course, I need to UPDATE MY TAG. Thanks, but I'm not sure which one you mean. I'd hate to take credit for someone else's work. -Joe

Mustang to Meers
Fun ride, good group. Dadayama put a nice route together, nice mix of roads. Looking forward to the next one. Here is my one and only pic of the day, just to prove I was there!

Mustang to Meers
Sorry I couldn't make this one. Sounds like you guys had fun.
After all of these years, you would think Meers would take plastic by now! Ooh.... the home made peach cobbler and vanilla ice cream, That's a nice prize at the end of the road. I was hoping that someone would bring me some back? Good pics!

Great guys to ride with and an awesome route put together by Dadayama! Hopefully we'll get some more rides in this winter. Dave |

Right now, my riding is taking the Nighthawk to work or running errands, but at least I am still getting out, such as it is. -Joe
