Troy lee air. I tried on every helmet in the store in the sizes that fit my head. This one was a shade less comfy than the arai VX-pro 3, but half the price, and seemes to have better ventilation.

Shoei Neotec for half a year now. By far the best helmet I've ever had. Comfy after a little break in. Fairly quiet. I will never have another road helmet without an internal sun visor, just too handy. The Neotec vents very well for a flip-up. The Pinlock antifog kicks ass. The fit and finish are flawless. I like the looks of it also. I guess it would be fair to say I like it.

I currently have an Arai Vector, Pedrosa Replica, Black, Red, and Green. I'm not sure it's the best helmet out there even though the overall quality is as good as it gets. I've also had an Arai RX7 Corsair (noisy), and Arai Astral (side pods kept breaking), an AGV X-Vent (crashed), a host of Shoei's, and an HJC or two.
The Arai's are great, except for the stuipid side pods, some being very noisy, and the exorbitant pricing. Shoei's are also great except for the overly hard liners, and the overly exorbitant pricing, the AGV X-Vent was great except for shield fogging issues, and the HJC's didn't last for me...(I haven't owned one in a few years but the newer ones I have looked at are quite nice and seem to be an improvement) Not sure there is a best helmet...just one you like, that fits well. |

Winter helmet is a Shoei Neotech. I wanted to try a modular helmet. This one rocks. Love the flip-up feature, but it comes in second to the internal sun visor. The pinlock is very nice to have in colder weather, too. This thing is just a great helmet.
For all other times, I wear an Arai XD-3. I love the wind in my face, so I wear dark tinted dirtbike-style goggles. If I'm out at night, goggles come off, faceshield goes down. Also, should I get caught in the rain, the faceshield closes over the goggles, so no stinging rain drops! And as previously mentioned, the sun visor really does work.
