Rental for Baja

What documents and insurance do you need to take a bike rented in the US into Baja?

The following is based on my understanding of current requirements. I hope others will chime in if I'm mistaken.

You aren't required to have insurance anywhere in Mex but I believe you're a fool if you don't. As far as documents, that depends on how far down Baja you intend on traveling. If you stay in Baja Norte, no documents are required. If you plan on going past Guerrero Negro on Mex 1 into Baja Sur then you will need an FMM (visa). You shouldn't have to provide any documentation on the bike (title, registration, ownership) unless you leave Baja for the mainland.

Why are we stopping? We don't have time for that!
