Looks like all the tools arrived safely, props to the USPS. Still waiting to hear on the 2nd one to Canada.

I'm gonna start organizing a second group, there has been quite an interest since the GB closed out, plus a couple of the original peeps need adapters. See below.....

Round II Tyre Tool Group Buy

I'm gonna start a second list for those who missed the first go-round. I'm not promising to do the buy at this time, but want to start organizing a list since there has been a lot of interest. These are inmates that either posted in the thread or sent me a PM. I just need to know at this time if you're still interested and what adapters you want with the tool. I suspect it will take longer to get enough buyers this time, but maybe not....

Check out their website. the folding stand with the clamps is pretty trick. Kind of pricey though. Can you include that in the group buy?

yeah, Are's stuff is pretty cool. I'm hoping to meet him this winter if he comes to the states.

The advantage to a GB is everyone's buying the same thing basically, all the packages fit in a bigger box and we split the shipping. The International shipping is what influences the cost the most, but we can check and see how it would work. I'd love him to ship me a pair of 17's for the XR, he or someone over there builds some sweet SM wheels. But my CFO said it ain't gonna happen, that without even knowing the price :(

Several inquiries regarding the adapters. here's what I think I know.

The tool comes with a 20 mm rod (which will fit for example, a DRZ with a 20 mm axle).
There is also a 25 mm sleeve to shim it for a larger axle.
An optional 15 and a 17 mm adapter are available for smaller axles, I'm thinking 200-250 cc dual sports / dirt bikes, or even a KLR. There is also an optional "pusher rod" that is shorter than the one in the kit, I'm thinking mini-bike or scooter??? Are did build 1 special adapter for croc, and it was only like a couple more bucks than the standard optional adapters.

You just need to verify the axle sizes for the wheels you would be working on. It seems to me, after playing around with my tool (that's "tire tool") that you could make a simple sleeve if you needed something between 20 and 25, or bigger than 25. And I'm not sure it would hurt if there was a little play, say you were using a 25mm adapter but your axle was 28mm. YMMV.

Has anyone used this on a 21 front? Is it long enough? That's the other question I've had, but I haven't tried a front yet. I'm building a 19 to replace my 21, but it looks like it will work on a 19, if I ever get to that part.

With a 990adv 30mm axle / front 21" and without proper adapters, it is barely long enough. I am thinking about adding another inch to it...

are you losing 5 mm because of the 25 mm adapter in the 30 mm ID bearing? If you just shimmed the rod (adapter) would it work?

See post 157. I think it worked out to 114 for just the tool, delivered TYD. The actual cost depends on the price of the tool, exchange rate at the time, and how many (determines shipping) you order.

I spooned on a new Dunlop D 606 tonight. It was barely 40* in the garage and the tire was new, stiff and cold.

I didn't have problem one. The new tool worked as advertised. As noted above you will need to move the tool further away from your starting point than you would with normal tire arns to push the bead over the rim.

It spooned on in less than five minutes. I took the Allen bolt out of the tools handle to maximize storagability and slipped the entire mechanism (now three pieces) inside a piece of rear tube I had laying around ( to prevent rattles and placed the assembly in my Dirt Bagz,
