Good on you, Ace. It's not the displacement, it's how skillfully you ride. When they start suggesting a "big bore kit," it's time to throw in the towel.

It's when they say "You're a big bore" that you have to worry.

I know all the things that women like to hear, such as "Are you through yet?"

No bloody mystery about the divorces, eh?

Hear or say?

We used to hear that a lot in our ancestral home which only had one throne. (and 6 kids)

Well I do have some skills. Matter of fact, on my last mission, things were so tough there was a 33% casualty rate. Only the Spetsnaz and I made it back unscathed.

(Sorry Devin)

At the risk of fostering feelings of inadequacy in my fellow future Rock Riders, I present to you MY SPITZNAS. Capable of tightly boring up to a 6" hole as deep as I dare, with no perceivable side play. It's so effective, condoms won't stay on it without shredding in a wild hole boring frenzy until....................................

New Android Tab IN

Ahem. Ok, let's be serious for just a minute. My new android tablet showed up last night. It's one of these:

Not the fastest, biggest, baddest, or the best. However, it was reasonable in price, has a reputation for being rugged, has good battery life, and what's more, has a GPS in it that doesn't need WiFi, 3G or any other fiddles to function. I'm thinking that this will be the new nav dashboard for my bikes. It will pop right into my new DRZ fairing with a RAM mount.

I downloaded several GPS apps, and gave it a whirl today. I was fairly impressed that the GPS locked on to signal in my house. Good sign. The open-source maps available today are becoming increasingly refined, and I was very impressed with the level of detail they provided. I took it for a whirl up the road in the van while picking up the evening's vittles.

I'm not saying that the test was by any means exhaustive, but I'm fair pleased with the results. My position displayed accurately. Map scrolling is at least as good as the dedicated GPS I'm using, and the screen is four times as large. Confidence is fairly high at this juncture. Initially, I won't rely on it as a primary navigation source. I have a rather primitive GPS in my speedo on the DRZ, and I'll continue to carry my DeLorme. However, if it works, I can chuck a lot of spare electronics I usually carry. Very cool.
