hey joe we did but the rider was to scared to hold at those speeds cause of what happened to that piston above on the pre run
with stock gearing 15/45 it does 98
and way to many revs

Well to be honest my only experience with them was my old bog stock postie.

And it still had a restricter thingy in the end of the muffler that I couldn't get out because of a burred over screw.

But I didn't want to go any faster anyway because the suspension was slightly inadequate for stuff I was riding.

I can't recall ever going fast enough to warrant touching the brakes though...

You wouldn't believe what turned up at work this morning. A new pre production postiie bike setup for delivery. They had just finished testing up at hart and wanted to put the bike on the scales to get the various weights with different equipment attached.The new one is 8 kilos heavier than the ct110.
Will be introduced next march/ April. Didn't like the look of the forks very short hope they are better the the old ones.

What is the reason for the change? Is it the Euro standards? I wonder why they didn't just put a new bigger cc motor in the same frame or a slightly modernised frame? I'm not a Postie so I've never ridden one for work purposes.

Well the CT110 hasn't really changed much since the 60's so I think it could be about due for an update.


And a few people have suggested a bigger engine or bikes with bigger engines, but I am pretty sure a bike has to be 110cc or less to ride on a footpath (along with other restrictions), so a bigger engine would be useless.

Who's the trusted expert/s in or near Melbourne for postie-bikes?
Looking for some parts, knowledge, where to get 'stuff' done and possibly tuning skills - or at least advice.

Times have changed.
My old man was a postie back in the day when they rode a pushie. (PMG)
They would get officially assessed from time to time. So no riding on the footpath for them on those days. They had to stop at the gutter and walk the mail to the letterbox.

He reckoned it would have been quicker to walk his entire route and just use the bike as a pack horse arrangement.

So what are the exact restrictions for riding on the footpath. The roads get pretty busy around here but the footpaths are not. So what are the rules?? Can I just scoot down the footpath on a postie legally? Maybe drop a pamphlet in a mail box every so often?

In Vic, you need to be under 12 or have less than 200 watts of power at your disposal; from what my postie mates tell me, the footpath is the most dangerous place on the planet, as Mrs Flobbietits reverses her Flacadore/SUV/Asian shitbox out of her driveway, severely under the influence of snot-gargling small children....
I think I'd rather take my chances with the drug-crazed txting teenage P-platers thanks....

Do government employees (posties on CT110's) have some type of exemption to ride on the footpath. I gather they do, but what is the actual rule for them?
