Hola Julio,
Thanks to your excellent advice I was cranking and banking up and down these all day not far across the border from you: ![]() Crisp mountain air, pine forests, blue skies, friendly locals, volcanoes in the distance. Guatemala doesn't seem so bad to me. Kindest regards, John Downs

Breakfast in Comitan, WiFi and time for another overdue post
From San Agustinillo we went to Huatulco , another place I haven’t been to in over 30 years . What a shock !!!!! where we used to sleep in our sleepingbags right on the empty beach of Tangolunda, there is now one resort next to the other . I am so happy to have had the chance to see these places, before mankind screwed them up, big time . Anyway, the sunrise is Tangolunda are still as beautifull as ever, even if this time I saw them from my hotelroom in the 4th floor and not from my sleepingbag on the beach ![]() Here my favorite photographer taking shots from this amazing delight ![]()

Virgen de Guadalupe
The day of the Virgen de Guadalupe is a big holiday for the Catholic world , but especially here in Mexico .
Almost everybody is out , running long distances, many times barefoot, carrying a torch until they get to some church, far away from their hometown . Riders are no exception , they become pilgrims as well ! Here some pics that I took in San Cristobal de las Casas ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()

Feets & Faces of the Virgen de Guadalupe
The pilgrims of the Virgen de Guadalupe run great distances , barefoot on the rough Mexican roads . Their feet dont look to good, but the smile and joy stays on the runners faces

Food
No matter what happens in Mexico, there is always food involved, and the day of the Virgen de Guadalupe is no exception.

Last stop in Mexico
Leaving San Cristobal in the morning we should get to our last stop in Mexico before lunchtime, the Cascada del Chiflon.
A series of several waterfalls , being the velo de novia the biggest one . It was the first time on our journey, that we were not riding by ourselves . My good friend and longtime riding buddy Jean Luc had come up from Guatemala to San Cristobal to welcome us and to join us on our last part of the ride . Mercí mon amí ! ![]() Our indoor parking in San Cristobal ![]() And here some pics from the spectacular waterfalls ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() And than our goodbye committee showed up , by the thousands !!!! In Guatemala we see the appearance of these birds as a sign of good luck, good omen ![]() GRACIAS MEXICO , you have been nothing but good to us !!!! You gave us new friends, great food and you have let us see some of your most spectacular places . GRACIAS Y HASTA PRONTO !!!!!!
