2003 XR650R - Just picked her up. Previous owner and myself have put just over 600 miles on her.

Sure enough...hexhead stock bolt was stretched. Replaced with Mikes 12.9s and torqued both 55mm and 50mm to spec of 40 ft-lbs. Before forgetting about them and going cross-country...

Question 1: My bike didn't have the chamfered washer on the rear bolt as shown in the manual. Think the washer is necessary with Mikes replacement?

Question 2: Mild locktite on these bolts?

Thanks in advance dudes...PS kickstarter bolt was loose too...just as advertised. This site is a big help!

I've had 3 or 4 bikes (out of maybe 50) not had the threads quite deep enough (by 1mm) to accept the extra 5mm bolt on the rear...that's why I include the wshers... usually not necessary...
