So let's pretend this is true. Does this mean that Rossi may not get full co-operation from the Yamaha racing division? Like maybe some parts are only available to Lorenzo? That could mean they aren't on equal footing and Val has a reason why Lorenzo is ahead of him. Maybe if Lorenzo was more marketable he wouldn't have accept Rossi on his team next year. Lornezo needs to work on looking more excited when he wins maybe?

I got a laugh while watching the Phillip Island race where the big news was that it was Stoner's last race on his home turf. Everybody was cheering on Stoner for a goodbye, as well as him winning the race by a mile. The second big news was Lorenzo officially clenching the 2012 title after Dani crashed out, but nobody seemed to care besides him. At the awards ceremony, when the riders were ready to spray each other down with champagne, Casey and Cal kind of looked at each other like "Where the fuck did Jorge go?" I don't have anything against Lorenzo, but he doesn't really excite me either. Lorenzo is like the Al Gore of MotoGP--all the credentials are there, but he's got no personality to back them up.

I kinda feel bad for the guy. He tries to play the clown to fill the shoes of Rossi because that's what's expected of a champion now. He has to feel pressure to manufacturer these shows because that's what Rossi has made people think is proper for a winner.

Thanks for that link. I just can't believe Lorenzo had much of a say in who his teammate would be. I recall reading that Rossi was vehemently opposed to Lorenzo joining the team, yet even he in his prime couldn't veto the management's decision. Based on that fact, I doubt Lorenzo would have much influence over that decision this time around.

Rossi didn't seem to leave Yamaha on bad terms, so it is surprising that the racing guys are opposed to him. But maybe their desire for youth and exuberance trumps age and experience at this time.

And congrats David, you deserve all the recognition that comes your way.

CS27 and DP26 don't run around fist pumping like idiots, and both are more likeable IMO.

When Rossi was with Yamaha the last time , the animosity in the pit was so bad the teams had to put up a wall between the two . Neither set of mechanic's were allowed to talk to the other side and info was closely held.

I'll bet this year it won't take long for that to happen again.
Remember, GP racing is not "club"racing , there are no friendships only us and them.
