I'm an idiot. I don't understand what that means. Less top speed? same transmission ratio, just less top speed in each?

Finally!
I bought it in rough shape a little over a week ago. It still needs cosmetic stuff but I'm taking it out tomorrow to test the revalve I'm trying on the shock and forks. It has the thumper racing 660 kit, forks from a crf450x and a few other goodies. Should be a blast when I'm done!

You just have to futz with it don't ya.
Thinking of going over to Marin this afternoon. I could stop at that shop and pick the jets up if you want. Mail them in a Christmas card.

well you know me boss...if I can get either of the carbs to start and perform better than right now Ill do it...
the tm38 is better at not dying instantly if you tipover...it will keep running and since Im a short mother that means I dont have to stand there kicking forever if I do stall it... not saying Im a racer but its just annoying ![]() was just wondering if somebody wants to trade some jets...jajaja keep it on the cheap $$$$ appreciate it though... |

You can change the listed NX650 5th gear tooth count to the Euro spec. Here's a copy of 'davek18' reply. I used that same chart and elaborated with different primary and final drive ratios back when I was trying to decide what gearing I wanted to run. ![]()

I have. What does primary reduction mean. Where is that?
The clutch basket to main shaft? And it appears that smaller #'s mean faster. |

Thats right. The primary drive ratio is the gearing between the crankshaft and the transmission input shaft. The lower ratio/smaller number equals higher speed and lower engine rpm. The gearing link I posted will help show good examples if you try some different bike/gearing combos.

I will admit my math teacher was right when he told me to pay attention.
![]() It's all math... Primary ratio x transmission ratio x final drive = overall ratio. The tire and RPM add a whole bunch of extra math. ![]() Horsepower is just a math problem too. Torque x RPM divided by 5252 equals horsepower. ![]()
