CRF450X modification problems

in my earlier thread i said i was gonna buy a 2smoker. not gonna happen because of importing problems, or so i have been told by dealerships. Thats a story for another day.

Now I have succumbed to the 4stroke machines. I usually ride trails and deserts, sometimes go on the MX track for some jumps. Now the problem is im not a fan of headlights, side stands and the whole trail bike gear on a it. I have bought a CRF450X. Problems are its not as fast or lets say: ass biting as its 450R brother. Want to know if I can make safe mods on it before screwing up the engine etc. Looked into smog removals and plugging the thing. Now i want to shed some weight on it. Removed the spark arrestor, frankly where I live in middle east trees are a myth and would burn nothing to the ground and disturb no-one in the vast desert area. Any advice there from anybody who has done speed mods on a CRF450X?

(read that if you remove the light its over charging? how can that be resolved if true)
