September SA long weekend. Marree and back
A great trip up to the north of the state. We took the tar from my place, north of Adelaide to Kapunda. Then onto Taylors Run Road through to Powerline Road which took us to Manoora. Next on to Mintaro, Mount Rufus Road, Hilltown, Andrews then Belailie Valley to pass Jamestown, turn left over main road to Tarcowie then to Willowie, Wilmington and up the Old Gunyah Road to overnight at Quorn. Saturday Arden Vale Road to Simmonstown, then north to Hookina and back onto the tar. Lyndhurst via old Beltana, then onto Marree. Sunday straight back to Parachilna, up to Blinman (where they were having the food and wine affair), down the Wilpena Road, west on Brachina, up Bunyeroo to Razorback then back down, Brachina to the main drag then down to Morolana. Sunday back to Mintaro roughly the same track, then west of the Main North Road via Hoyleton, Salter Springs to pop out at Roseworthy Agricultural college. My digs for the first night Quorn’s Criterion hotel. ![]() Proby’s Grave north of Quorn on route to the Flinders Ranges ![]() ![]() ![]() Parachilna’s Prairie Hotel ![]() Blinman ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Razorback lookout, Flinders Ranges ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Beltana ![]() ![]() Leigh Creek super pit. ![]() Stoping for a bite to eat at Copley’s bush bakery ![]() Farina Ruins ![]() ![]() ![]() Marree, SA ![]() ![]() Mintaro, SA ![]() ![]() Martin Dale Hall near Mintaro ![]() Bluey Blundstone's Blacksmith Shop in Melrose. Thanks for posting...
Great photos, looks like a grouse weekend.
Mate, how do you find the XTZ on the Tourances? I've got em on the XTR, not sure if I like em...

Not really keen on them. Ok on the bitumen they do get a bit hairy on the gravel. I'm basically just using them up.

You lazy bastard, Neil.
You've cut and pasted my email to you before the ride, and used it as a ride report. No mention whatsoever of the ride from Marree to Lyndhurst on the Sunday morning.................... Our mate Phil picked up a 660 Tenere from BMW (going out of business sale). 3000km, luggage, $8,000. Ouch! Catch up in the new year. Cheers, Tim
