Burgess has an interesting view on the failed Ducati venture and the return to Yamaha.

Watched the Race of Champions tonight and Jorge was in it. He looked good racing cars, except his first race was comical. In an Audi RS8 he slept coming off the line (ala Marquez) and when he took off was going well, and spun. he couldn't get the car restarted and ended up hitting the onboard fire extinguisher making a mess of the car and track.
Comical, but he did better in his next few races.

Rossi's age probably had a lot to do with his decision to move. He can't wait around, while they try to fix the turd.
And seriously, they haven't made much progress. Even Stoner was unsatisfied with the bike, when he left, then there was two years of "dream marriage" and no results. But it's somehow all gonna turn around next year? May be. But its been that same story for many years now, and they've fallen short of expectations. |

Burgess has said he will continue as long as Rossi does, then retire. I believe he is 61, but I'm not sure exactly.

I have little respect left for Burgess personally after the last couple of years of supercilious condescension. He is still no doubt very good at his job, but to say he feels sorry for the mechanics with mortgages, and takes the job anyway, even after his length of tenure? What a crock.
His actions are part of the reason for "MotoGP the way it is now".

I completely disagree. I think Lorenzo and Rossi celebrations are stupid and unprofessional. The only reason I am NOT a Rossi fan is because he acts like an idiot when he wins. I preferr a winner to act like he has won before and not be a blubbering idiot or act like a child on Christmas.

Thank goodness Rossi hasn't won in over 2 years, so you didn't have to stand his stupid celebrations...
![]() Personally I don't care, if they act 'stupid' or 'professional' after they've reached the finish line. It's the 45 minutes before that, that count for me. There's room for some better, tighter racing in MotoGP right now, hopefully putting Rossi back on a competitive bike will help a bit. |
