Rick Mayer and your butt
Enjoyed your report, always good to see someone using their KLR. I rode mine from Texas to Colorado last year and I think 500 miles in 10 hours at 100 degrees plus is almost as tough as doing the single track in the woods! Butt the Rick Mayer seat is the berries! I've had mine on two KLRs, rode from Phoenix to Fort St John, BC on the first one with that seat. Switched it out when I got my '07.
BTW, I've had three Rick Mayer seats (currently on my KLR and my FJR1300) and I highly recommend them. I'm not affiliated with his business, just a very satisfied customer. |

Nice report indeed. Not only was a KLR involved, but also MI. I have zero dirt skill currently, which I need to address someday. The pics and writeup are making me want to learn sooner vs later.

You have to get over to the west side of the state in the woods. You can just explore the endless two track (which is awsome also)if you don't want to get in the singletrack. |

I sold my GSA and am back on a 2008 KLR so now I can get back into some sweet woods areas again, and the Klr is alot easier to pick up.

I found this report. Good job..I know you will like the KLR,,especially on the road,,,,I have tried. Single track But the KLR is too much bilke for me on that type ridin......
I like the idea of being out of debt,,,,,,I followed Dave Ramsey method about 10 years ago and debt free is FREEDOM,, get a budget going and ,,,,you will think you got a raise.....uncle jimmy ![]()

Great post. I also love them green first gen. KLR's.
Our personal best is 500 miles in one day, Minneapolis to Bayfield, Wisc. and back, with some side roads, food stops and such. We were gone about 12 hours, lots of stops and breaks. Ass tired upon return....... drove home in the rain.
