Thank you, it was a lot of fun this year with all the traveling, racing and hanging out with the classic bike crowd. I see the Classic Register is taking entries for Eastern Creek Barry Sheen.....free entry and transport of bike both ways.....might be something to plan for 2014........ just need to save for airfare, accomomodation and such.....

First Anniversary of the Classic Racing noobs.
First race of season on 8th and 9th at Hampton Downs. http://festival.nzcmrr.com/ Conversation between Team Winston and Team BMW went like this: Volty: " So how is the Triumph coming along?" Trustme " waiting on pistons, cylinder, rods, brake calipers, got the gearbox bits and the work on the frame is done...how's the Beemer?" Volty " put the battery on charge" ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Just as well really as the Missus has had me toiling on the house..... found myself hoping it was raining after Xmas so I could play in the shed. Geez it was hot yesterday....had to drink beer.....but thats dangerous as Missus suggests more work and your more inclined to agree... Got an Advance Rider day at HD on Sunday to get my hand back in. |

BMW's are boring old mans bikes:
![]() Pushed 146 from pride of place ( since November) in hall outside, fitted battery, added fuel, full choke and pressed starter....immediate mighty roar... .. " Norton....Ducati....did you see that" ![]() Been a year since its first outing. Loaded van and ready for ART day at Hampton Downs. Good practice for upcoming NZMCRR event in Feb. Its going to be a hot one. |

The ART day was good, highlighed a few things, gearchanges....and that I don't use 5th as its too tall for HD, the rear brake
needs work. I havent't really used the rear much but finding I am braking later and need it. My mate turned me up a bit of 14mm and tapped it for the fittings. Classic Festival is on this weekend, http://festival.nzcmrr.com/ and the BMW needs a bit of TLC. I swapped out the 3:1 FD for an R80 3.2:1 so that way I can use less of 2nd and more of the upper cogs. Be interesting to see if I can improve on lap times this way. They have tightened up on the wired plugs so all the plugs now need to be wired. ![]() Removed the dog leg brake rod as I suspect it straightens under load. ![]() And synced up the carbs using the Office Max method......

How's your 336 ? You need to ask about it in Old's Cool, it's a bit boring in there at the moment.

. That's cause hardly any of the 'merikans are riding at present, so all they are allowed to do is argue about fairly esoteric or stupid things.

I think he needs an oil cooler - there is a good oil cooler thread going now. Is one really needed at 280kph, how much hp to push this extra crap through the air. The experts are waiting.....

Yup , interested . The alloy barrels should help but an oil cooler would not hurt.I'll see you on Sunday, doing the volunteer thing since Winston is still resting. Bits are on their way , I think / hope. |

Voltair and the Beemer competing at the Classic Racing Festival, Hampton Downs, this weekend.
Not the best quality clip as I struggled with a new camera (that I don't like). |
