I just found this thread yesterday.
I'm glad he's running Dakar again, I hope he sticks it to em!

Sure he's an "individual", that makes him entertaining.

I even ordered a sticker!

GO ROBBY!

Anyone know what you have to do to get on PlanetRobby? Been waiting weeks for the email after you register.

Never mind it came literally seconds after I posted.

Can somebody explain why RG races a vehicle that represents a defunct car company?

He doesn't have a car mfg sponsor, why run a currently made vehicle for free? It made more sense when Traxxas was a sponsor, but there isn't a reason to change for the sake of change.

The HUMMER brand is no more but GM is still trying. There are a lot of HUMMER's out there with a following. Where can you purchase an off road Mini? All these vehicle are custom fabricated off road race machines. Most outer bodies could be changed to fit a market, sponsor etc...

Technically it's owned by a chinese company, not sure what they're doing with the brand name.

Maybe not? Didn't that get stopped by the commies? I dunno?

I guess I get the part about not having a manufacturer sponsorship, but at the same time racing a Hummer (or a Hupmobile, for that matter) leaves me with an impression of questionable relevance & credibility.
