That's a rare bird...............I've been standing in the XR/ATK line for a few decades now And I've never even seen the bike in person, only photos. If I recall correctly, the early ATKs with the XR engine used an adapter to mount a single carb to the dual carb head. This is the only thing I didn't like about those early ATKs. I suppose after riding one I might find more things to dislike What kind of aftermarket frame are we looking for?...............A question for Lucky ![]() I thought it might be interesting to take a RFVC, air cooled XR engine and stuff it into a more modern aluminum frame, but which frame would be most compatible? |

^^^^thing is Ive never seen someone succesfully do the swap...ive seen many threads with promise that dead end....
as we all know a better frame would make the xr engine shine more anyways... hope somoene does this someday, sometime! that would be a sight to see and RIDE! |

Finaly found some time to disassamble my little pig, and I'm kinda confused! It's been worked on before I bought it... I knew it from the start, cause it has 100mm cilinder on... but what confuses me, looking at a camshaft (will take pictures tomorow)
I tend to ask some questions. Does the XR shaft have the middle bearing? There is an assembly on mine that looks like decompresor, and I definitly dont nead it . and if there is no bearing on the camshaft, should there be a seat on the head... uh... it would be easyee with the pics...

Sure it does. 6,4 and 11 are behind #12. These parts make up the decompressor assembly.

It is also part of the anti kick back. There is no reason to remove. Mr Honda put it there for a reason.
