I don't think it is half pavement but there are some good long stretches. I always get more tired on long pavement bits. Less to keep the mind occupied I guess. Still as far as 2 strokes go a 300 might not be bad but I would recommend a heavy flywheel to help smooth it out.

I added up the paved transit mileage and came up with 417.9 miles, so add the little bit on stage 2 on day 2 and I'm guessing 430 tops. Last time I checked, 430 wasn't half of 1200

Ok. I'm sure those 170 miles are the only miles that would make your butt hurt, or hands numb, so its all good. And of course, they are still paving the road to Coco's so I was just averaging up since there will could physically be more pavement there than in 2012. It wasn't just the transit sections that have pavement. And it was just my opinion...my teeth would still shake at 430 miles on a two-stroke...

I think they are taking a few of the Paved miles off of day one, and adding a few more dirt miles.
If they do it it may only be for the bikes.

It will still be dirt to Coco's and maybe they send us south threw the BIG wash then out to the Bay of LA road

Yea, riding a 2 stroke that far would suck for sure.

No! it just screwed up the cross over roads to and from Loreto but the were working on them .

I never really thought about all the tarmac riding. I'm rethinking my tire choices. I was going to use MX 51's for the whole ride. I've used those in the past pre-running for the B1k. Maybe just the good ol' reliable D606 is the ticket.

What bike are you riding?
I ued 2-D 606 tires and 2- mooses at the baja1000 in November on my 450x
we changed at the 616 mile mark ( they are both in good shape)
