attorney near Woodbridge VA

I need an attorney near Woodbridge VA to help with a case against a motorcycle dealer who did faulty repair on my bike and caused the engine to be destroyed.
Any attorney on here or anyone recommend one?

try crocker cycles for used parts.

Look into other court options...

I had a realty deal fall through, due to sellers not meeting two requirements of the contract. They wouldn't sign to release all of my deposit, even though their agent, escrow agent, etc all told them I had a right to get it all back.

I filed in small claims ($68 dollars to file), it was easy and fast. I also subpena'd their agent for another $12.

No one wanted to show up in court, so the week before they returned my entire deposit to which I said I had out of pocket costs - they coughed that up too.

Make sure you have your ducks in order to prove your side, or get witnesses. At least the cost is minimal.

Something else I learned in a nother situation...

I was sued by a neighbor over a very small easement. Did all my research back to the 1800's on property deeds, thought I had an open and shut case.

Finally realized I really had to get a lawyer to represent me to be sure all i's are dotted and t's are crossed.

What I learned:
1) anyone can sue anyone for anything. There is no system to weed out questionable cases.
2) at the end of the day, the judge gets to make a judgement. Forget anything you think is correct/accurate/truth, the judge gets to make the call. Even if you think your case is iron clad, he still gets to make the call.

In my experience, lawyers are not permitted to practice in small claims court.

Suing for the value of tools and equipment stolen from my truck in small claims court, the judge threw the defendant's lawyer out during the court session.

(The defendant paid up with a check before the case was called.)

As other have said, you don't need a lawyer. Just need all the appropriate paperwork, reciepts, dates, times, names, whatever, to prove your case.
You may have to come to the Prince William County Court house to file your claim with the court and to have papers served.
I believe you will have to file in the city of Manassas, where the county seat(court house) is located.

Good luck!

It was in Amherst County, but word gets around in the rural areas! Everyone in Amherst County seemed to be familiar with my predicament. I've got a good friend in Amherst who kept me up to date as word got around.

That's what I get for owning land adjacent to a Richmond Doctor... He didn't have the time to discuss the issue with me, but he had plenty of money to run out, hire a lawyer, and sue me.....

If I could sell my land, I'd buy a place in Lexington. My wife and I get up relatively often - great town, may be our retirement location. You're lucky to live in such a great area.

Not sure where everything took place, but I did learn I could file in my town's small claims court since the real estate action involved occurred in the same town. Sellers were from out of town.

Will do....

I'm checking the real estate web sites off and on. I actually get up there on the bike once a month or so, you may see me passing through town! II'd have to sell our acreage in Amherst before I made a move.
