How about making a fairing that looks sometging like this, and another part that wraps around the fake tank but not as far to the front as the stock? I go every time I have to remove it, and it would be soo nice to have a fairing that just came off a bit more easy!

I like the looks of #2. I would also add to get rid of the two stock turn signal side plates as well. I don't think there is any reason to have 4 bolts per side holding it either like in the stock turn signal panels. Integrate that into the fairing to eliminate them. That way the fairing will go seamless into the faux tank side panels.

I pmed him few weeks ago, and he told me they are going to be ready in 6 months or so...
Maybe if we push him down a little bit more...

Any chance of you posting pictures of how work are proceeding?

Are you making the front to fit the original headlights, or would it be possible to choose a plain front where holes could be cut for custom headlights? That would be great to be able to choose new lights :)

One thing you could do for us is move the instruments further away from the bars. If any of you have tried to mount better handguards (Acerbis, etc) to the DAkar you will have realised that the handguards smash into the tach or the speedo before you reach full lock.

The solution is to install really high bar risers which require a longer brake cable and also taxes the stock wiring from the switchgear, etc.

If you want wide bars than the wispy narrow BMW stockers you've already used up a good deal of the slack in the cables without risers.

But yes, I'm interested.

And it would be very nice if you could include the proposition from Linusp3 and the one about turn signals - it is always a batthurt to remove the panels if you're just going to access the battery.

I'd like a low fender... couple of weekends back, riding in really sloppy, raining gravel/dirt my radiator was caked with mud, so was my headlamp, and soon after my fan seized and the temp light went on.

I need a better way to collect all the tripe being thrown up from the road. I have considered removing the beak and using a motocross fender, but I'd prefer a low fender.

Wait... I have a YZ450 fork on the bike. Wonder if there's one available for that....

Anyway, carry on with the fairing and let us know.
