Oil Change

Somewhere I remember reading that a guy would cut a piece of PVC about six inches long and place it over the drain plug. I don't remember what size PVC, maybe 1.5"?? Anyway, you just stick your socket on an extension, then shove that through the PVC and pull your plug. The PVC should route any oil into your preferred oil receptacle. Hope that helps.

You don't get near the bottom to change the oil. I told you to get a Honda oem service manual. You saved enough on that shock spring to cover the cost. You NEED one and it will be the best money you will spend. It will protect you from yourself!!! Do it, Now!

I would bet three nickels that 99.63472% of owners have never cleaned that screen. Ever!

Three nickles were about the only things that weren't in my sump strainer right after I bought the bike.

I generally don't talk to myself when I'm tinkering, but I cursed out loud when I got the strainer out.

Fortunately, the rest of the sump was clean as a whistle (just some erl). A previous owner apparently nuked his piston, subsequently having the top end rebuilt, but neglecting to check the strainer. The "mechanic" probably didn't even know it existed.

I've PM'd the link to Thumpers Forum Mod GB for his perusal, asking him to consider the Index to be stickied at the top of the Thumpers Forum with the other bike-specific indexes. To be considered for Stickiness, he requires that the thread be maintained and updated, and I have assured him I will do so.

Wish us luck!
