Just one question how did you trim off the ends of the cable ties to hold it together

How is he supposed to re-use them if he trims off the excess? I figured as a former KLRista you would surely know this.

Yea! I just got off work, thus ending my 6 weeks or terror! I have to go in at 7:00am for a few hours but am so ready to regain a normal life that involves something other than work and sleep. I love my job though, don't get me wrong.

2013, here I come! Happy New Year guys!

Yea, all 4 registers had lines and we are real efficient. It's really fun but tiring at the same time. Best part is that it was a good year for us. In this economy, to have green numbers is good. Thanks to our customers and my great staff, we did just that.

I have a noob question regarding the counterbalancer on my 94dr650.. I tried to set the piston to TDC, then took the side cases off, pulled flywheel, and re-aligned the chain according to the plated links & marks on the sprockets. But I was a little off with the TDC. I have no idea how to set TDC now that the flywheel nut is off the crank. Is my only option to put the bolt back in and tighten it down so I can use it to turn the crank? I have a pic: you can see the three marks on the chain are aligned, but the key slot is not. Any help is much appreciated, thanks.

schall- You will have more luck getting an answer in either in the "Garage" or "Thumpers" sub-forum. I honestly can't tell you what's going on with that chain. Somebody might happen by who has seen the inside of a DR650 engine...

From where you are in the process, the best was to find TDC is probably to reinstall the flywheel and go from there, but I'm not familiar with the DR650 nor did I stay in a Holiday Inn Express last night.

Put it in high gear and turn the rear wheel, by hand, in the forward direction. This is much easier if the spark plug is removed.

Looking for Rides

Hey everyone, have been watching this tread and see there are a lot of riders and rides taken place around Jackosn. I have been looking to meet some people and do some Adventure type riding and backwoodsKLR said to introduce my self here. I live in the Summit area south of Jackson and would love to meet up and take some of the great rides I see y'all doing. I work 28/28 so I can ride almost anytime I'm off. Just wanted to say Hey and hope everyone has a Happy New Year.

Hey Stewarrd
Welcome to the Central Ms Nut House---Some really decent gentlemen here and they are really in the know about where to ride around Ms---I have had a blast riding around with them

And they know a lot too

We usually post up during the week about where and when we are going to ride to

Stay tuned

Thanks everyone for the replies. I ride a Tiger 800XC and my road bike is a HD Road Glide Ultra CVO. Love any type of riding, have been riding most of my life. Love all day rides exploring new places. Just really love to get out and clear my head. Think I have riden almost all the hard roads in my area, thus the Tiger. Wanting to get back to my younger days on the dirty. A lot of un rode roads there I think. Really looking forward to meeting you guys and doing some riding. Will be coming back state side on the 5th and will be watching for the next ride y'all put together.
Again Thanks for the replies an RIDE SAFE!!
