We have the WHL and AHL near by as well as a few other juinor teams but the NHL is the best game on ice. I was a season ticket holder when the Canucks were at the Coliseum and tickets were $20 a game. I can only afford a few games at Rogers arena at $120 a game but I miss my Bruins.
The Abbotsford Heat (Calgary team) is packing fans in this season. |

Don Cherry
Having worked in Canada for 3 years, I really got to like this guy.
Interesting take of his on the strike. http://sports.nationalpost.com/2012/...abour-dispute/

They have already pushed too hard. The small markets are going to be in deep trouble before the first drop. It will be interesting to see how the owners face that dilemma.

Mixed emotions over the settlement
I was kind of hoping they would just cancel the season instead of having a short one. Plus I would save some $$$ from ticket refunds. On the other hand, football ends in a couple of weeks so I need something to watch. ![]() It will be interesting to see which players kept in hockey shape. Yay, I guess. ![]()

Are they going to imitate the NFL and have a 16 game regular season?

Maybe they should just go right into the playoffs.
I'm happy they're playing. To me, it's still the most exciting sport to play and watch. It'll put more people back to work than just the players. Which is good. I wonder about some of the players that just signed to play overseas, are the contracts now void?

Boycot first game
I am not a hockey fan but think they need a little of their own medicine to show them who the boss is. It would be really cool to see the first game played to have an empty stadium to let the greedy owners know that fans can make or break them. Greed has ruined almost every sport we know and very few athletes do it for the sport. Its all about the big houses and fancy cars and bling today. Just my opinion.

I'm a big fan and am glad they are back but they need to spend some time in the penalty box.

Instead of bothering with a short regular season they should just start with the playoffs from the beginning. Seven game series-- win you're in...
