Where to buy body panel
I own a 2011 F800gs and yesterday I broke my left rear lateral panel (the one that covers the gas tank) into about 6 pieces. Any recommendations of a good place online to order a new one from?

Any BMW dealership will have access to them, the issue is that you will pay ~$180 for it. I scoured ebay last night and couldn't find anything you needed as well as the parts section on advrider.
If you have the pieces you can use a a plastic repair kit and get them together (only do one piece at a time to ensure good placement) and then run a layer or two of fiberglass or CF underneath or a mesh backing with resin to reinforce the piece. You will have to sand it and repaint but this will be the cheapest method if you cannot source a new/used piece. As this is not a structural piece a cosmetic fix like this will work just fine. |

thanks everyone, I searched the web for a while and only found MaxBMW initially, I will check the other sites listed.
I wish I could say it broke from tearing up some singletrack, but alas, I was loading my CRF450x into the truck and the driveway was covered with ice. I needed to pull my truck forward a little into the garage to have a patch of dry cement to load the honda into the truck. Well, it was very early and I was very tired and hit the back of the bmw, and watched it slowly fall of it's center stand. It landed on the snowblower right in the place where there are no guards on the BMW and it broke. |
