WOW!

Williams, AZ weather
  • -2°F
  • Sunny
  • Feels like -14°F
  • Bitterly cold.
It's colder in Williams, AZ right now than it is in Anchorage Alaska.

Who were all you wankers I saw today at Taste Freeze, and why the hell would you decide that was a good place to eat?

And so it goes

It has been a tradition that no matter what I ride on New Years day, no matter what the weather, snow, ice, rain, or wind it just has to be done. Ever year I have done this it has been a good year for me and for ridding, ever year that I didn't ride New Years day have been a total disasters.

To make 2013 a good year, I geared up, saddled up, & set out at 23.4 degrees this morning, needless to say it was quite brisk and rather short ( about 15 mils) but it had warmed to a comfortable 28.6 degrees upon return.

So there, I've done it & its going to be a great year

Happy New Year to all SWDSR , and riders everywhere.

I agree, traitions are to be up-held. Geared up did about 25 miles. Froze my butt off. I feared the worst if I did not. I feel good about the up coming year.

Lake Alamo/Brown's Crossing

Hey Phoenix, greetings from the southern border (yea, I don't post much). Friend and I are heading up from south of Tucson to Death Valley in a couple of weeks, I heard that Brown's Crossing at the end of Alamo Rd upstream from the lake is dry and "people" have been driving across there and continuing north. Of course no one could give a report on the road conditions. We have very capable mid-size bikes (X-Challenge and KTM 690), so of course we are planning to ride the big GS's instead; anyone been thru there in the last few weeks and know if that's doable? We're pretty experienced riders, but don't like trying to single track and hill climb on the pigs. (I know, take the 650) Thanks for reading and any help you may be able to provide.
