I was at this ride too & remember the bike very well. It was the coolest bike there!

Every time I get an email about an update on this thread I am hopeful for a tiny morsel of an installment on the trip.

Where were we... Leaving Ponteix after ensuring everybody's okay in the overturned truck.
![]() ![]() I remember a perfect morning for riding across the prairie; sunshine, lightly scattered cloud and several dramatic patches of fog in the damp, low lying areas along creeks and ponds. It was beautiful and I was in my happy place thrumming along on the old boxer in the cool morning air. After a short time I came across the town of Kincaid, Saskatchewan and stopped to have a closer look. The long shadows of morning bathed the sleepy place in a sympathetic light, so I pulled out the old Nikon. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Didn't realise until I got home and reviewed these images, but being la_y and taking pictures with my helmet on resulted in a crooked hori_on (there's no functioning _ed key or question mark on this annoying laptop so bear with me). Harper's Hardware in Kinkaid, Saskatchewan: ![]() It's nice and quiet, here in the morning. ![]() |

Thank you so much for all the photos and monologue. I've been working on returning my old '83 to the road and look forward to similar travels.

I enjoy the overseas reports, but look forward to the ones in the backyard just as much! Yeah the Prairie scenery is "unique", but it's the places like Kincaid that get me fired up for some straight, long, never ending gravel road trips!
Nice report! MFS |
