Nice TRX! On another visit I rented one of those (Garner's?) and rode to PI for the vintage races. We don't have TRX850s in the states.

Laconia / Bryer Motor Sports Park
Now you guys are making my head hurt, trying to remember the details from what seems like a life time ago. I raced AAMRR in the early 80's. After the AMA changed the cc limit from 1L to 750cc a few ex superbikes showed up at the club races. Those were wild to watch up close , even in a local Experts hands.
I used to think the Loudon Classic was wild on the outside of the fence, but it was scarier in the pits, surrounded by all the lunatics. What a race track for bikes. I practically cried when they tore it up for the oval. I was at Mid-ohio running BOTT when John Bettencourt won the Superbike race on a VT750F over the full factory bikes. That was one happy bunch of guys. I am glad to have been there during the glory days of American road racing and flat track. I wish now that I had taken pictures at the time, but I have always been a "in the moment" kind of guy. |

I got a random box of pictures from my mother to scan. In it were some pictures from our family trip to Daytona in 1983. I'm pretty sure these are superbike, but some of the F1 bikes looked much like superbikes at these distances.

Looks like Mike Baldwin in Superbike Challenge races circa 1983. That's the year I got involved in Wera... These guys were my heroes and their tricked-out Interceptors were unobtanium to noobs like me!!

I beleive they are PM wheels. I recall ads for them where they had several cut-out patterns or the un-cut ones.
