Minisquatch, are those Prinoths? One of my friends on here (JjustJ) grooms for Vail Resorts with a Prinoth Bison. I drove it one night; it was a blast!

JamesG, is that an A1 or A2? I was watching Greatest Tanks Battles on Netflix this morning. Unbelievable machines!

The hill i used to work for had an MP plus that I got to log many hours in.
The hill I work for now has a Pinroth Bison on demo. 450 hp and auto tension tracks I'm told.
Too bad they hired me as a liftee or I'd love to play with that thing.

Yeah, that has been my impression of the snow bikes too; consume about twice the fuel and need a lot more HP to run in the snow - which is why I will run with a modified seat (opens up the airbox) and the "agressive" switch setting on my Hussy when I get the track kit.

So, how do the tracked ATVs work in the snow? Boondocking?

They are heavier than a bike so I imagine they probably don't do as well on steep inclines with deeeeeep powder. I think the heavier the machine the harder it will be to get floatation even though the ATVs would have more track surface area to float on (although the TImbersled Mountain Horse has a huge track).

I saw some vids of some side by side ATVs with tracks and they didn't float all that well and lacked the power to make it up even a moderate incline with moderately deep snow.

The USMC had a pair of screw drive vehicles at Parris Island when I was a kid. My dad said they could never actually run them because absolutely devastated the salt marshes. Sure looked cool sitting there though.

found one of these in a scrap yard in Kalgoorlie it was used for crossing salt lakes.......it got sold two weeks latter and copped in half
