the 690 is to much money, the tr650 is a better bang for the buck and just as good a race bike

Debatable. One has a readily established parts network that you can get parts for in a day or two, while the others don't have even efficient fiche finders. One has 3x the aftermarket support than the other, more knowledge already in existence, etc etc etc.

For the majority of customers, neither are a race bike, unless you wanna sale your soul to rally raid, etc. They both are just quick fun back-roads bike. Great for one up adventure touring, and have their positive sides depending on your tastes.

I suppose I should consider myself lucky. Frontline Eurosports is about ninety miles away in Salem with plenty of decent backroads between here and there. They're a pretty good shop too. I have no complaints so far.

the rice rotax have less issues than the euro counterpart

the ktm 690 does not impress me , the husky tr650 does for the money

retail the ktm is about $3000.00 more than the husky

Don't the new Husky's of that line share a lot of parts with the G650 X-Challenge and X-Country, or is it the G650GS/Sertao maybe?

I'd like to come down and test ride that demo sometime, but not when the drive to your shop is sketchy from snow/ice

The Ramsey brothers had a BMW dealership in Belpre, OH back in the day. I think BMW wanted them to sink a boatload of bucks into it and they closed up shop.
BTW I have 2 BMW oilheads, 1150GS and a 1100RT and I do all of the routine maint. I have the new digital TB sync tool doodad so that makes it easy. If anyone with a BMW wants to sync up send me a PM and we can make arrangements. Ripley area.......

I was thinking of unloading the 525 and getting one but I am not sure I would have as much fun.
