instrument cluster going fading in and out

Hi guys my instrument cluster is look like its fading in and out i have replaced the battery because i charged the old one up and its stopped doing for a bit but then it started doing again thought it was the battery. Its a 2011 i would not thank that it is already going out but who knows!

Ah yes... here is mine from a '10 990



The problem is that vibration causes the circuit board to rub against the housing and tiny particles of plastic rub off then cause intermittent electrical contacts. If you look closely you can see white dust on the inside of your lens.

Easy fix:

Remove the unit from the dash.
From the rear of the unit remove the 4 screws which hold on the plastic lens cover.
From the front side use a can of compressed air to blow out the dust which has accumulated inside the unit.
Replace lens, reinstall.

Or take it to a dealer and have them call KTM for a replacement.
