I got a 2012 CBR250 and a 2007 Yamaha FZ6 I was thing about trading the FZ6 for the CBR500 . But then I realize the FZ makes twice the h.p. and gets about about 55 mpg . It does every thing better than the CBR except the CBR makes more torque at low rpm's . I think I'll keep the FZ6 and maybe sell the 250 instead.

I finally got the pics I took of the new bikes at the IMS posted!
Since there are so many of them I just posted them on my G+ page. Just click on them one by one, or if you want to watch them as a slide show, just click on the first one and then click the "Slide Show" button to see them that way. Enjoy! https://plus.google.com/u/0/photos/1...06782410278481 |

FZ6 is an awesome bike, no doubt. Too bad more people couldn't see it.

I love my torque.. but I'd make an exception for the FZ6, I love it.

The Bangkok Post did a test ride of the CBR500R. Looks like it will debut in Thailand at 204000 baht (about $6700).

I think this video shows the 500r with the Honda top box, must be the same set up as for the x.
I just don't get the race bike, what is that, the slow az group? In that article, the guy said he got it up to 100 on the straight at the track, about what you might expect. I still think that this will be the same bike everywhere, no power increase for the states. |

What's there to get? No one starts out their racing career on a Superbike or GP bike. The EJC is for riders as young as 14 years old.

Spec racing = good. ![]() The Ninja 250 has been raced for years at tracks all over, and the racing is tight and fun to watch. If I were capable, I bet it would be fun to be involved in as well. And it (spec racing) doesn't cost a crapton to be involved with, another plus. |

Honda has a history with 500cc racing: the CB500 had its own one-make series.
James Toseland (WBSK champ, not so champ in MotoGP) won the CB500 Cup when he was 16. There is a Mini-Twins series (mostly tuned SV650s and ER650s) that lap the TT course at 120mph+. Not that this, really, has anything at all to do with the new 47bhp Hondas.

ABS looks like it is always $500 extra. My prediction: CB500X wo/ABS, $6299; w/ABS, $6799. - Mark |
