Not so much as "heels down" its more "toes up". Good enduro technique. Helps kep your toes away from stumps. Seen quite a few guys with busted toes and feet from hitting stumps, especially in forested country where trees have been cut before. Some guys used to wear plastic boots.(way back early 80's) Vandimini i think made them. Like wearing ski boots
but protected ya feet well.
