Experience speaks volumes, usually because we've been there and done that when we young and bulletproof .

I know, the old man isnt as bad as I like to make him out to be.

And damn, I convinced him to let me ride out to the lake and was going to grab the tag today. I had the perfect place to put it on the way back too.
I'll redeem myself soon though for the slip-up

Well I waited and this was on my way today... so now go find an abandoned chimney.. Think of an old factory, old fallen or burned down house with a chimney still standing, etc. I bet there is something near you! Then grab that perfect next one.

I've looked on the internet and thought of everywhere ive been and asked so many people. And no one can come up with a standing chimney.

Guess I'll have to wait until the next one

Where is KingJarhead right now? He has a super cool old chimney in his neck of the woods.

This chimney is the only thing left of this small house. It burned a few years back. First attempt at a usable pic...

I can do better than that. From the back...

The chimney was in the center of this house. You are looking at the tin roof laying against the chimney.

New tag...

Looking the other way...

A Greenway.

http://www.hawksbillgreenway.org/

They have a stage for bands in the summer, two miles of paved trail along Hawksbill Creek and more.

So, the new tag is a "Greenway" as defined by...
Quote:
A greenway is a long, narrow piece of land, where vegetation is encouraged, which is managed for public recreation and slow travel.
From here.

A little more info...
Quote:
Greenways are open space corridors that can be managed for conservation, recreation, and/or alternative transportation. Greenways often follow natural or existing land or water features such as ridgelines, stream valleys, rivers, canals, utility corridors, abandoned rail lines and others. Although each greenway is unique, most connect recreational, natural, cultural, and/or historic areas. Some greenways are designed for people to use for recreation and non-motorized transportation, while others are designed for wildlife, biodiversity, and scenic beauty. Greenways may be publicly or privately-owned.
From here.

A Greenway grab

Raleigh area Greenway.

This is a really nice trail, goes around a few lakes, (Shelley Lake is close)
I think it's called "Mine Creek Trail" which has several off shoots. It's fun on a pedal bike or nice for jogging.
I like this tunnel, cause I can hop off the road, shoot down, snag a cool pic, and scoot back up the other side without annoying too many soccer moms. :)
(I've tagged this tunnel on my old CBR as well)
Raleigh's Greenway system is up to 81 miles according to their website. (I think they are pushing it for some of those, and I'd not call sidewalks a greenway, even if it connects two "real" greenways)
http://www.raleighnc.gov/content/PRe...ySystemMap.pdf

If anyone wants more reading. ;)

Ok new tag I'm giving people an option
Ideally tag an elevator. From the inside

If that's pushing the legality too far
Grab a pic of your bike in a shed that is NOT yours.
Oops :
