You can switch drive mode in gear, on the fly, all you have to do is close the throttle and thumb the switch. I've been running T too since it's so cold but I guess with TC I can try S without any ugly surprises. I think I'll go try it. After all, the temp is all the way up to about 40F today!

The screen works well with no buffeting at every speed I've tested. Some speeds require the screen to be lower and some you can ride with it all the way up. I'm amazed a major manufacturer finally got it right.

The S and T modes are like fine and coarse modes or 1/4 turn vs stock throttles. Sport mode lets you adjust your speed with very little input. Touring mode is more lenient and you can be a bit ham-fisted and still get smoooooooth.

Both modes will wick it up when in the power band. This is really a Mr. Hyde/Dr. Jekyll motor. You can play nicely in the sandbox with the other children and putt-putt around or you can keep the revs over 5500 and it takes off "going to light-speed" style. Again, this is independent of mode.

Supposedly, specifically developed for the 2013 FJR, and the owner's manual says the only tire you should run on it.

Whatever. I'm not a fan of the BattleAx line of tires; if these hold up great, else I'll be moving on to Michelin PR3s.

Sounds like marketing bullshit. Just like my Saab that says I should only use Mobil 1 oil. The PR line is a proven tire and I wouldn't hesitate to run them on an FJR.

Yep, I'm perfectly happy with PRIIs 'n IIIs. (I'm running a III front and a II rear right now. )

I'm enjoying the Pilot Powers and will be running them again, awesome tire and they appear to be wearing the same as the PRII's I had before these.

Is that on the Rear by any chance?

I think it's 023F F and 023F R. My owner's manual is on my desk though, I'd have to put down the wine and disturb my dog, the puppy, and at least one cat.

Besides, why interrupt a good posting by applying facts?

Fixed! Now I can go have some wine and close my manual.

Frame sliders?

I picked mine up on January 26th (my 64th Birthday was the 31st - I do give myself the best birthday presents!) Unfortunately too much snow at the house to do much on it. Only have 167 miles on it. Darn flatlanders in Denver have no snow and if I could just get it about a mile from home I'd be good. I've ridden the KLX 250 out and the DR650 home in a snow storm, but that's quite a different story than trying to get the FJR through it!

Anyway, thought when I bought it that wouldn't be farkling it since it really had pretty much everything. Except a top trunk (which I prefer to the side bags for day to day since I have to move a car to get it out of the garage with the side bags on). Oh, GPS mount. Wire up for heated gear and battery tender. Heated seat! Gotta have one of those. Hmmm, Calsci windscreen seems nice. Maybe some shorty CRG levers? Frame sliders!

OK, speaking of frame sliders, anyone know someone who makes them for the 2013? Ones that don't require modding the fairing?
