Motor Change out
I'm about to change the motor on my 07 Fz6. (Second gear was starting to slip.) I picked up a motor with only 1500 miles on it locally. It still has all the injectors and fuel rails etc so it should just be a plug and play swap? Any tips or pointers? anything to watch out for?

So, why was the "new" engine in the boneyard? Check out second gear on that also. Most likely your problem is a bent shift fork. We've replaced on a couple bikes, usually caused by power-shifting into second. We also have seen rounded engagement dogs from similar antics. Means replacing gears and maybe other parts.

Swap
The other motor was there because it was a totalled bike, but the motor is fine. Just going the swap route, not going to tear these apart.
