Some drama already in the quad class,-
One of the candidates, Tomas Maffei (2nd last year) has problems with his Raptor stater and is working on it, have not passed through starting ramp. |

Noticed that last year...in Argentina, even in small towns, everyone was Dakar crazy. Following the race on radio, cheering like mad, etc. In Peru small towns people were a bit more indifferent.....

Likely a lot of folks headed to the prologue? Also fences are a bit further back so maybe crowds just don't show up on camera?

Peruvians dont get up very early at all. They will be lining the streets I can tell you that. Dont know where deadly gets his perception from, we rode with the riders and had thousands worshippiing us even though we were not in the Dakar as competitors...
