Still wondering why there is not a lot of dual sport riders in the central area. West of Hot Springs there has to be hundreds of miles of good forest roads to ride. ???

No dual sport here because Santa says I wasn't good enough this year.Maybe next year....

hey you guys down in the center..need some route input..trying to build a Arkansas Road Tour gpx exchange and if you have any favorite routes like you wanna share, pavement only please! Go here and post your gpx file so that others coming to Arkansas can pick a route..try and follow the format that I have set up to help make is easier on me and everyone else..mention the city where it starts and how many miles the ride is..its pretty simple, hope y'all can help!

Are there gpx files for those routes? Some of the links aren't working.
Some of the longer routes are sweet.

Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday next week, depending on the weather.

That was a real mess. 3 days and nights with no power. No water since we have a well. The only riding I did last week was to a creek to fill water jugs for toilet flushing. We kept the fireplace roaring, closed off the living room, and slept on chairs and couches to stay somewhat warm. The dutch oven came in real handy.
I did a small amount of chainsaw work yesterday so we can drive out without scratching the cars. There is a lot more of that to come.

Ross opens up tomorrow.

Thats why many places sell generators. Try it for three weeks after a hurricane, it do get old. Very old. The woods sure were pretty with that snow but I am sure you have a different description.

I sympathize with you. Brought my generator around to to our basement and brought a bunch of firewood in but we never lost power. Had probably around six inches of snow but it drifted so badly it was hard to tell. Went through this four years ago during our "fifty year" ice storm when we were without power for almost a week.

Came back from Texas yesterday and there is still a lot of snow at the Social Hill exit on I-30 so suspect Ross is a mess. ADR postponed their New Year's Day ride to keep from destroying the trails there. I was going to go but may just go to Brock next weekend instead.

I've been informed that some of the ADR guys are going out today to survey the conditions there. If I hear anything, I'll post on here.

A buddy of mine with ADR told me the following:

Well the reports I'm getting is not much mud but lots of trees down but nothing you can't get around. If you're out there riding and come across something you think you can drag off the trail, give it a hoist. We will get out there with some chain saws and get the big stuff.

Brock Creek was slick this past weekend, primarily due to the snow that had been on the ground. I suspect the same thing everywhere. The Weather Service is predicting some substantial rain over the next few days... hopefully a good packing rain.

Some of us NE Arkansas Flatlander guys may try to ride down there (Ross) on the 19th, depending on the weather.
