There was a kid riding on a pond just around the corner from here earlier.

I guess there was 5-6 inches of ice, I was surprised.

Yeah I saw the forecast. I was talking to Boats about maybe heading to the pine barrens for some sand riding this weekend. I need to figure out the gearing for the 390 for SB. I want to be able to use 6th .

I was never able to pull 6th on my 400 EXC with 14/48 for very long and as I recall, the gear box is the same. Maybe if you went 14/50, you might be in the ball park. I would wind it up in 5th until it wouldn't pull anymore and then dump to 6th and then back to 5th You should bring the 690 instead!

Let me know if you go to Deso. I was planning on running the trails Sunday in that area but with the temps rising the trails will be to soft. May try the single track in my yard just to get out and could head in that direction.

XMOTO, I run a 13/53 on the 390 and cannot pull 6th gear on the hardpack snowmobile trails.

Jim, Do you have any idea of how thick the ice on Lake Desolation is? I'll probably be riding there or under the twin bridges in Halfmoon if they have ice.
