Tire Vendor

Used to buy all my tires from swmoto, but it looks like there has been a change of command over there.

Where are you buying you tires and heavy duty tubes these days?

Heading to Baja soon and need some new rubber on the BRP's

While I'm here, what are you running in the Desert?

I've been running the Dunlop 606's but am always open to change

I've ordered most of my tires from americanmototire.com They offer free shipping and pricing is about the best I have found online for dual sport tires.

I own a big red pig that i use for dual sport.I have owned it for about 4 years and have ran a few sets of tires.the 606 rear is good but for front I liked the pirelli xcmh better than a 606.Any of the %90 off/%10 on tires I have tried only got 1000 to 1200 miles on the rear and the front cupped running pavement.Current setup is a pirelli mt21 front with a shinko 244 rear.I have been running %70 highway %30 dirt. The front tire isnt cupping from too much pavement and the 244 is smooth with no noise or knobby vibes.

Rocky Mountain ATV-MC is generally the best price I have found. Free freight on $100 order.

Motorcycle-superstore.com usually (Michelin T63's and Pirelli MT21's). I heard Rockymountainatv is pretty competitive too.

I buy from both Rocky Mtn and Motorcycle Superstore; they don't carry exactly the same tires (T-63 for example). If the latter, be sure to check for a coupon here

Just did Las Vegas to Cabo and back. The D606's are great for Baja.

I tend to use:

http://www.motorcyclemaniacstore.com/

http://www.cedarrapidstire.com/home.php

http://www.americanmototire.com/catalog/

Excellent service from all three.

If you're not concerned about DOT, you might want to consider the Maxxis desert IT for your trip, reasonably priced compared to the Perelli and Dunlop. 606s are my #2 choice for it's good road wear. In the desert the ITs will outshine it. I can trash a Perelli in 2 rides but I'm a little heavy on the throttle, no way one would last a multi day trip in the desert on a 650R unless your taking it easy, I wasn't too impressed with it's traction ether. We ride allot mostly all desert and rocky trails here in the SW and the Dez ITs are by far the best wearing tire on my 650R which tends to chunk everything else, hooks up nicely too. Good puncture resistance and the fronts stick in those conditions, the Dunlop and Perelli front tires can get downright scary on loose highspeed conditions (pressured up a bit for pinch resistance). I've heard the Michelins Desert tires are good also but they are a little pricy.

One more for good measure, I have used these guys several times without issue. They ship out of South Carolina so east coast guys can usually get their tires in a day or two. No affiliation.
