I'm ok. I go back tomorrow at 2:45. Wendsdays X-rays confirmed i had broke my fibia right above the ankle and my tibia 3" below the kneeit was too swollen to do anything with so they sent me home with painkillers and a splint. Same thing Thursday. Friday the dr. Decided my ankle was partially crushed so I took a ct scan to find out how damaged it is. They sent me home with stronger pain pills and splinted my leg up to my hip and wrapped it with ace bandages. with instructions to keep my leg elevated all weekend. Tomorrow after studying the ct scans they will decide how they are going to fix it. The dr said if the ankle is damaged too much, he will pin everything together and put steel rods along my tibia and fibia. If my ankle isn't too bad he may set my tibia and fibia and put a cast on up to my hip for 4 weeks then X-ray to see how everything is healing. I just hope he knows what he's doing, I'm starting to get nervous because nothing definitive has been done to my leg and its been almost a week.

I think it's time for a second opinion. If they don't what to do with it, then find someone who does these all the time. It might mean you need to travel somewhere like DC or Baltimore.

Dang .. Nick where the heck are you going ?? Maybe look in to UVA..
It seems to me they would want to work on it ASAP.. As your body is already starting to knit it the way it is !!
If they wait any longer they might have to re break..

And let me tell you that IS NOT fun... BTDT...

That looks like the bike. We had a brief chat out on the trails while I was sitting there trying to get my feeling back in my arm. (On a Husky which may or may not have been missing its rear fender at that point in time, can't remember. I had a monkey on my back )

Nick, Winchester Medical center has good doctors and a good reputation. I don't know who you would see there but you may want to look into it.

Good luck and heal quickly...after your leg gets set that is.

It took me a couple before I noticed the spelling - nice touch Blooch!

We might be up for it although unless the ice melts this week, we'll be in the cage.
