Cool post, brother. The infamous KLR has bitten more than one of us here and there and for some reason, we put up with them, pat them on the head and keep em going.

Yours, perhaps, should have been put down with a shovel to the back of the head....

but I respect you for your efforts.

Dude, it's something else. I get recognized on the trail. Though considering I'm fully clothed, I think they're recognizing the bike. My dentist back home recognized me from it. How she saw it, I've no idea. But she was the one that broke it to my mother, who no doubt had cotton mouth and a suction tube nipping at her uvula at the time, that her full grown son was naked with his bike on the internet.

Its absolutely amazing what you've done to keep Janis around.....long after %99.99 of the rest of us would have let her go. You actually have enough respect, devotion, and sentimentality to preserve the bike thats given you so many good memories. Right on brother

I, like most, would have moved on to a new bike. But then I've never invested that kinda mileage or memories into one bike.....this thread has made me think maybe I should tho.

You are right when you defend the KLR, in the right hands the KLR is a great bike and can do wonders.

I recently bought a DR650 and I my idea was to sell the KLR if I liked the DR. Well I like the DR and just can't make myself post the KLR for sale, cant't justify keeping it either. WTF, it only cost a few bucks a year to keep it.
