Still amazed at these people riding fuel laden bikes across the sand and making it look easy. I have tried several times to ride a motocross bike in the sand and failed miserably.

All that and these bikes are the "Small" ones compared to what they used to run.

What a great display of skill

Even at the leaders pace he has several hours left. Multiple that by X due to fatigue, dark, rider ability, etc and well....gonna be tight to get to the bivouac before tomorrows riders begin to leave.
