They look good to me.... I am on my second set of Shinko 705's after TKC started cupping making lots of noise. I would say I am a 80% highway / 20% offroad rider for reference.
I may try a set of the Heidenau next spring.... I like the center stripe also...

Revzilla will let you preorder them with an expected mid February release, I am considering the rear with a TKC 80 front.

Does anyone know which sizes of the Karoo 3's are tube and which are tubeless?

I'm thinking this might be my next tire. I took my 1200 Adventure into a pasture this weekend and quickly regretted it. The mud was so soft that the blocks on the Tourance tires filled up instantly and I lost all control. After 2 falls, it was time to see how quickly I could get back to tarmac.
I know this is the parallel universe forum, but I'd like to hear other opinions on this tire. Most of my riding is on the street but on the rare occasion I need knobs, I really need knobs. |

Agree - shouldn't be a problem to use TL tyres with tubes. Only a problem the other way around, ie using TT tyres without a tube.

They look absolutely rubbish.
The front pattern is going to give very poor stability off-road, it's going to want to slide side-to-side easily. And both front and read are going to be bad on the road since the spacing between the grooves is so big, they're going to be noisy and wear quickly. What you want is a big pattern but that there is a "continuation" in the contact patch to the road - that's why the tkc80 is so good. |
