I've seen a lot of Gas in the mid sixties for $.08, $.09, $10 a gallon during the early and mid sixties.

I know that's hard to believe but my family did a lot of traveling with the military. So we moved every year, sometimes more. There was a phenomenon you would see on the interstates where there would be a gas station on each side of the Interstate. They would have a big Gas Price sign that said, "Gas War" and had the price. Usually written with a spray can. The 2 stations would each try to price the other one out of business I guess.

I just found a pic for one but I've seen it much lower

Dunno if you know what I mean by that...

You must be a youngin'.

Why back in my day, I recall gas for 25 cents a gallon. And "gas war" prices of 19 cents a gallon. And, back in the day, if you filled up with 8 gallons or more, they gave you free glassware!
Yep, 16 ounce tumblers made of real American glass, suitable for your cold beverages!

Now days, they confuse you with pricing that's 20 cents lower than the guy across the street...if you buy a car wash!

Sorry, got carried away...so here's a pic because it is a pic thread!

I think that was the first thing I removed when I bought my 305 Superhawk in 1965. Useless and uncomfortable.

Plus, I wanted the girls arms around me, not holding on to a strap.

Works for me. Maybe not in the spirit of the thread, but it ain't the first side road we've been down. Adventure is where you find it. I'd take a ride with her
