I havent seen one but they seem quite heavy (99.5kg) for what they are. My sons ktm300 is only a couple of kg heavier.

the fuel capacity of 7.5l would be nice - we have to carry gas in our backpacks when riding the trials bikes.

I still think having a seat on this type of bike is a negative - reducing your ability to move around the bike and diminshing that 'mountain bike with a motor' feel. it seems like simply a small trail bike as opposed to the whole new ball game that a proper trials bike is.

would still love to try one out though

They had them at a demo day down here - wish I coulda got there. Mrs NordieBro is in lust Halfway between trials and enduro, they say.

Sounds like a similar concept to the GasGas Pampera. The 250 2T was a good learner and easy-riding bike, except for the battery-less system and kick-start. You couldn't tell you'd stalled it until it was too late, and beginners are never the best at kick-starting either.

I have no idea of the weight but it was lower and way narrower than any of the KTM trail bikes TSS had on the floor.

How much extra gas do you carry?

I'll pop in to TSS next week for a perve

we carry a couple of 600ml coke bottles each and may need to stretch that to 3 each on the longer rides.

basically you get liitle less than an hours engine time per liter and we average 3-4 engine hours on a 6-8 hr ride.
we spend a lot of time sitting on our arses and/or looking for ways around things and draging bikes up banks etc...

You looked at SpotWalla?
http://spotwalla.com

Seems to be better at displaying and storing tracks than the official site.

Looks like you're taking a similar route home to me, only 2 hours behind. I got back to Vegus at 6.20.

I took a little longer - got home at 9

thanks for a great day Bart - pity about the heat - and the fact that I was riding like my petticoat was caught in the chain

I had a great ride home - apart from a suicidal goat

Andy's video from last weekend

Vast amounts of water have gone through the area
Spent a fair bit of time watching Andy and Glen do track repair/maintenance
Was a great ride anyway

I know Mark thinks there is no need for ride reports recently because they cover the same territory however I feel last week's ride deserves comment.

There had been heavy rain earlier in the week and it was immediately visible as the tracks were scoured out by water ruts running downhill. 20 minutes into the 24 hour track we met a trials rider on his 2012 Gasgas 250 and he was amazed at where we were on trail bikes. On the 10 hour track I picked a few wrong lines and had to have 2nd attempts. Then we were into the Lost Valley which had been underwater. Silt was everywhere which made normally boulder sections easier to ride as the moss and slime had been stripped clean. There is a 4 metre high timber debris dam across the river at the bottom of the Devil's Staircase. We backtracked to Titi Rd having taken 6+ hours to cover 20km of technical trials.

I was a very tired boy and didn't recover until midday the next day, riding with these guys definitely pushes my boundaries.
