Everyone else sure made the switch very quickly though. I think even last year there was only a handful of guys with them. Now they greatly outnumber the old pattern.

On clean ice, I would like to see a rolling comparison between the two in order to compare ice damage. With 1/2 or 1/3 of the screws of an AMA rear, it might not be as much as you think - except for the fast guys spinning it up into/out of corners.
I think physics says the opposite. Less screws does not mean less digging, esp since they are sharper with less head area. It just concentrates the energy load into a smaller area. Remove half the nails from the bed-o-nails and make the nails a smaller diameter, and the swami would have a bloody back every time.

The MF1's should be able to vary the cornering lines pretty well, though.

If I move to MF1's it will be purely for the fun quotient - they just are a blast to ride.

True, but the blood spots will be farther apart

MF1's are just the natural progression. People probably resisted going to kold kutters from sheet metal screws too. Cheater tires!

But yes the line choosing is nice.

MF1's are fun. More fun. Less worries too, which I dig.

A Zamboni would fix all of these 1st world problems that we are having here.
Every 30 mins, the Zambonie makes 2 laps

Or check out this one. It's less than the price of two bikes with MF1's.

I completely agree.

I also agree with Lobster that it's not as much fun to be on AMA tires when everyone around you is railing out in the fluff. Bastards! {shakes fist}.

That Marcel dude is pretty much a French Canuk crack dealer. Gotta have it.

That's further north, Decorah beach/Black wolf point. We're south of Wendt's.

The light starts getting funny around 3 and it's hard to see the track. Boomer had to work and the track sucked so I think we were done riding by 2. Wendt's has Leinies Vanilla Porter on tap though.
