2013 RAM 1500 with Pentastar V6

You can get it in 4x4 in the US. And it looks like I didn't dig deeply enough I selected the HFE version which is 4x2 and standard cab only. You can also get the Penstar in the SLT which allows for Quad Cab and 4x4 versions.

I don't understand their packages. It seems like the SLT gives you a bit more in features for about $1000 less. Plus it comes in the Copper color I like but the HFE doesn't.

I still can't seem to build a 4x4 Penastar on either the Canadian, or U.S site. I've asked a couple of dealers when they will be getting them in stock, neither had a solid answer. You would think RAM would be eager to get the HFE's out asap.

A friend of mine is looking at a new one and was asking me about the pricing I got on mine, when I checked the MSRP on the same truck, base MSRP was almost 7k more than the 2012 base MSRP for the Laramie, mind you they are offering a 8k factory discount....which then brings it back in line with the 2012 MSRP. Funny how they work the numbers.

Regarding the Penestar, the Canadian RAM sight won't let you build one with 4x4....

Sure it will...it just has to be a regular cab. (I selected ST trim level)

HFE? per the Ram Trucks website, http://www.ramtrucks.com/en/2013/ram_1500/models/ looks like 4x2 regular cab short bed is the only way it comes:

The Ford is about the same price, only 1mpg less on the highway, and a ton of torque, I'd go with it.

I really like the Express package in a regular cab and short box, but it looks like you can't get the Penstar in that version either. Doesn't make sense to me, since there is no way you need a 400hp in a reg cab short box truck.

As far as reliability goes you won't be dissapointed. Below is a pic of my 2002 1500 with 190K miles. It' a 3.7 V6 standard<
Never had a problem with it (just normal wear and tear: brakes at 100K, shocks at 120K, U-joints at 140K, clutch at 150K, front hubs at 170K). Original battery lasted 9 years and I havent had to replace the exhaust system yet.
Here itis with 100 treated 2x4s, 600 fence boards and a few treated fence posts - yes it's a work truck edition

I test drove ram 1500 v6 pentastar crewcab. Really liked how it drivers, but tbe SLT banch seat sucks. I decided to wait till the 4x4 crewcab air suspension long bed is out. Than will order one if they make some with bucket seat, or will vet the Hami 8 speed. .. I have a 2010 Taco 4x4 crew cab now....
