Thanks for sharing Bruce. Nice crisp day up that familiar trail. I like how you went up so fast. I'm only going to take off a few points for spelling.

Good shooting Jeff. Bruce some of the roads we were on are: 415, 612, Grub Glutch, Leland Glutch, Acton Grade, 812, Indian Peak, 49, Ashworth, Silver Bar, Ben Hur, Beach, White Rock, Westfall, and last but not least Preston as you correctly pointed out. No technical riding all day. Some powder, some hard pack, some gravel, some sand, and few splashes of muddy water, and the ever present pavement. My GPS said that the average moving speed was 29 mph. Highest speed was 58 mph and that was on pavement. We stopped a lot to take in the beauty of the land. We came across several LOCKED gates with NO TRESPASSING signs across roads Garmin and Google say are through roads. Oddly one no trespassing sign was posted on a tree next to what was surely a drive way but way off the road. It read , "No trespassing. Violators will be shot. Survivors will be shot again." I wished the sign was closer to the road. It was difficult to turn around with bullets flying. No not really.
Stay dry in Florida and keep out of harms way in the great sand box. Come back and tell us the stories. I'll set something up at the cabin in the Stanislaus. |

It looks like a great ride. I was in the NV desert this past weekend. Lows in the teens, highs in the 50's. your ride looks better than mine.

Hey everyone, it's been awhile since I've logged on here. I haven't really been riding much this past year, I had a lot stuff going on. I thought I'd make my re-introduction to the site by posting some photos of a ride I did today. The weather was great today, and it felt good to get back on the 650. I don't think I've rode it since last August or, September? I started off with some simple dirt sections here and there.
![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() I eventually, made my way to Knights Ferry and walked around a bit and, checked out the old buildings and covered bridge. After that, I rode home. It was just a short 100+ mile loop but, it felt good to be back on the bike. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()

What shop?
My DRZ is torn apart. I tore into the swing arm and linkage bearings to lube them. Bought some other parts that needed replacement, repaired the non-functioning left turn signal and sent my shock off for rebuilding and new spring weight. New chain and sprockets and fork oil change after I get the shock back. Today I spent time rerouting wires for the GPS and future accessories. Gonna be a new bike. coarsegoldkid screwed with this post 02-26-2013 at 09:50 PM |
