I've been planning this for quite a while and if all goes as planned, I am leasing some space next week. The location is ideal for selling to pirates on a walkin basis during the summer ( you guys who know Morrow county prob can use that clue to pinpoint the location), otherwise, everything would be online and swap meets/shows. The VW stuff is my bread and butter, but i figured if I could make some bucks off bike stuff, it's all good....
Great to hear! I am slowly learning the VW stuff. I have watched a guy on youtube for a few years that restores them and is very informative. VWdarrin, check him out.

Yeah, the property business is well established and runs like a well oiled machine, so I'm turning it over to a guy who works for me for the day to day stuff and am going to start doing stuff I actually like to do. Going to start buying and selling VW's, restoring, and selling parts.

Several years ago I heard they are a union shop but you have to work there 6 months or so to get in the union; they fire people right before the 6 month period to save on costs of higher pay, benefits, etc.

Well maybe that is the reason they are constanly looking for workers,. They advertise in the newspaper and on billboards for workers.

Anyone have any problems with Bates 8in side-zip duty boots, for everyday use, They are on sale and have held up well in the past for me (lazy state worker) just not sure they can handle my line of work now (less lazy tire monkey) like they did then.

Silly girl, they don't play hockey in Texas. Nice body check though. Glad she's ok.

Yes the turnover rate is high. I started working there about 2 months ago with about 20 other people and there is currently only 2 other guys left in my class. Long shifts and high standards are tough to endure. I plan on finding a better job or at least changing positions as soon as I can. Meef is mostly correct. At the end of your "120 day probationary period" before you enter the union, they review your attendance, performance, etc., and most people are let go. They also hire many people right before the holidays since so much of their sales are during a 2 month period, then lay off just about anyone who isn't doing perfect. It's a tough job, but $500 a week is pretty hard to find for an 18 year old kid. Plus the extra $ means more bike parts.
